Description

Dog Breed: Siberian Husky (medium coat). #A5732360 Carmelito is a 2-year-old, 62 lb neutered male Siberian Husky with a stunning white and red coat and striking blue eyes. Found as a stray alongside a female white Husky, Carmelito is a gorgeous, fluffy boy with an adventurous spirit. True to his breed, he’s energetic, curious, and happiest when he’s active and exploring. He pulls a bit on leash but is eager to follow along and will improve quickly with regular walks and consistency. His ears show signs of fly strike, suggesting he may have spent too much time outdoors, but he’s resilient, affectionate, and ready for a life filled with care and companionship. Carmelito would thrive with an adopter who loves adventure and has the time to give him the exercise and enrichment he deserves. -2 years old, neutered male, 62 lbs -Siberian Husky, white and red coat -Found as a stray with a female white Husky -Beautiful blue eyes and super floofy coat -Energetic and adventurous; needs regular exercise -Pulls on leash; will improve with practice -Friendly and curious; enjoys outdoor activity -Signs of fly strike on ears; likely spent too much time outside -Ideal for an active adopter who loves hikes and adventure CARMELITO’S VIDEO: youtube/shorts/bUI2sOtsugk For more information, contact volunteer Lisa at lisaaunitedhopeforanimals ------- United Hope for Animals (UHA) is a volunteer group and does not have a facility for animals. Siberian Husky

A.K.A.: Husky, Arctic Husky, Chukcha, Chukchi, Chukchi Sled Dog, Sibe, Sibes, Sled Dog, Snow Dog
Overview:

The Siberian Husky is a striking and beloved breed, originating from Northeast Asia where they were bred by the Chukchi people for pulling sleds over long distances in harsh conditions. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their medium size, thick double coat (available in various colors and markings), and often captivating blue or bi-colored eyes. Their temperament is typically friendly, outgoing, and playful, making them generally good with children and other dogs. However, their independent and sometimes stubborn nature, coupled with a strong prey drive, means consistent training and secure containment are essential. While affectionate, their high energy levels and need for significant exercise make them less suitable for sedentary lifestyles or tiny apartments; a house with a securely fenced yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they are generally robust but can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye problems such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy. Overall, a Siberian Husky thrives with active families committed to meeting their exercise and mental stimulation needs.
