Our Adoption Process:Muttsinneed/adoption-process Meet Winston , the 5-month-old gentleman with the scruffy charm of a rom-com lead and the cuddling skills of a pro nap partner. He may not know exactly what breed he is (we’re calling it mystery mix chic ), but he’s got a wire-haired coat and cute pointy ears. Winston is currently under 20 lbs and all goofball energy. He’s house-trained, walks great on a leash, and has great house manners—basically, he’s the full package. When he’s not showing off his good-boy behavior, he’s busy being the ultimate snuggle bug or playing with his dog pals. Winston’s love language? All of them. Cuddles, kisses, tail wags—he gives them all generously. To meet Winston, submit an application at- .muttsinneed/adoption-application.html

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
