Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier. Hi! My name is Ami. I am a sweet girl who I came in with 3 puppies of my own. Trust me, they are a hand full. I am lovable but also, I do anything for treats. I know how to sit, and I bark at you to give me the treat. I love to get out to play for a while and to enjoy the weather. I want to be your new best friend. I would do fine with other dogs and kids. I do need cat tested if needed. I will be ready soon for my new home. To adopt one of our animals, please visit our shelter, open Tuesday-Friday from Noon-5pm and Saturday from Noon-4pm. Temperamentally, a well-socialized APBT is often described as loyal, affectionate, and people-oriented, displaying a playful and sometimes clownish demeanor. They can be excellent family companions, provided they receive consistent training and early socialization, though their high energy levels mean they thrive with active owners. While they can adapt to apartment living with sufficient exercise, a house with a secure yard is often preferred. Notable health considerations include a predisposition to hip and elbow dysplasia, allergies, and certain heart conditions.
