Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Mauro! This sweet young boy was recently rescued from life on the streets of Puerto Rico. He and his sister were found near a busy road, likely staying close to the spot where they were dumped — waiting for their owner to return. Eventually, one of our amazing fosters had an open spot and was able to take Mauro in. He was immediately vaccinated and neutered and is now safe and cared for in a loving foster home. Sadly, his sister hasn’t been seen since. Mauro is social, friendly with other dogs, and adores everyone he meets. When he was found, he still had his collar on, suggesting he was once someone’s pet before being abandoned to fend for himself. If he remained in Puerto Rico, his only option would have been to be TNRed (trapped, neutered, and returned to the streets). Thankfully, his rescuer saved him from a very dangerous area and has faith that, with our help, Mauro can finally have the safe and happy life he deserves here in the States.
