Dog Breed: Coonhound / Mixed. Don't let Blue's age fool you - he is full of life and zest! He can't wait to be someone's very best friend and accompany them on all life's adventures. True to his hound roots, Blue loves to howl – ah-woo, ah-woo! Whether it’s for treats, toys, or simply to tell you a story, his talkative nature and big personality are sure to make you smile every single day. He's not afraid to give you a little sass and talk back! Despite being a senior, Blue still has plenty of pep in his step. He enjoys splashing in the pool, taking leisurely strolls, and of course, curling up afterwards for a long, well-earned nap. He’s housetrained, low energy, and gets along beautifully with other dogs and kids. Plus, with those big floppy ears, a charming smile, and an adorable howl, he’s basically irresistible. Blue is a 10-year-old coonhound who found himself surrendered to the shelter in his golden years. After giving a lifetime of love, loyalty, and wagging tails, this sweet boy is now searching for a cozy retirement home where he can rest, be cherished, and spend his days soaking up comfort, treats, and affection. All this boy needs is some tough chewer toys, a comfy bed, and someone to give him lots of love! After “looking for love in all the wrong places,” Blue is ready for someone to fix his broken heart and give him the retirement life of his dreams. Could that be you? Blue was rescued from a shelter in New Mexico. Meet and greets are by appointment only. An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above. Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance. We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.
