Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Currently located at our Evansville, IN location Meet Bongo Bongo is a two-year-old male terrier bursting with love and energy! He’s the perfect mix of playful and affectionate — always ready for a game or a good snuggle on the couch afterward. This fun-loving boy adores car rides and seems to be crate trained. He’s very treat-motivated, which makes him eager to learn new things. Bongo already knows “down” and “no,” and he’s currently working on his leash manners. With his enthusiasm and bright personality, he’ll thrive with someone who can match his energy and continue his training. Bongo is FULL of energy and joy — the kind of dog who makes every day brighter. If you’d like to meet Bongo or learn more, please complete a foster or adoption application at ITVrescue All of our dogs are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped and spayed or neutered.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
