Shelter life can be overwhelming, and this sweet girl is still figuring it all out—but every day, she’s taking brave little steps forward.At first, Lunna wasn’t quite sure what to make of all the attention. Now she’ll approach for gentle affection, soaking it in with a mix of curiosity and caution. She’s content to quietly coexist and is slowly opening up to play with a few carefully chosen friends. Overview:
The Siberian Husky is a striking and beloved breed, originating from Northeast Asia where they were bred by the Chukchi people for pulling sleds over long distances in harsh conditions. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their medium size, thick double coat (available in various colors and markings), and often captivating blue or bi-colored eyes. Their temperament is typically friendly, outgoing, and playful, making them generally good with children and other dogs. However, their independent and sometimes stubborn nature, coupled with a strong prey drive, means consistent training and secure containment are essential. While affectionate, their high energy levels and need for significant exercise make them less suitable for sedentary lifestyles or tiny apartments; a house with a securely fenced yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they are generally robust but can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye problems such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy.
