Description
Dog Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier. Kane is a 3 year old 45 lb neutered male American Staffordshire Terrier likely. He is Heartworm/Lyme negative and microchipped now. He is a very sweet loving dog! Good with dogs but not cats unfortunately. He is very loving with all people! He was thrown out of a car with another female dog In front of a Lady's Home. She brought them inside her home and unfortunately they were not good with her cats so she couldn't keep them, which she wanted to, so she brought them to our rescue. Once here we vaccinated them both and neutered and spayed her. The person that surrendered them would like them to be adopted together, which would be great, but if not they can be adopted separately. They are both very sweet! They both deserve loving homes! If you are interested in meeting or adopting Kane please text Casey at 570-441-0083. We adopt to the general public but we also adopt to military veterans with adoption fee waived in order to provide our heroes with companion or emotional support dogs . Our other adoptable pets our posted on our website as well as the very brief (5 minutes) application form. rescuepetsservingvets

Overview:
The American Staffordshire Terrier, often affectionately called an "AmStaff," is a breed with a fascinating history, originating in 19th-century England and later refined in the United States. Physically, they are medium-sized, muscular, and agile dogs, known for their powerful build and distinctive wide smile. Their short, stiff coat comes in a variety of colors and patterns. In terms of temperament, AmStaffs are generally intelligent, confident, and highly loyal to their families. They possess a strong desire to please and can be quite affectionate. While they can make excellent family companions and often get along well with children, early socialization and consistent training are crucial due to their strength and inherent protective instincts. They are adaptable and can thrive in various living situations, including apartments, as long as they receive adequate daily exercise and mental stimulation. Health-wise, they are generally robust, but some individuals may be prone to hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as certain heart conditions.
