Description
Dog Breed: Doberman Pinscher (short coat). Adoption Fee: $300. New to DRM, stay tuned for more info!! True to her name, Angel is as sweet and gentle as they come. This lovely Doberman has an easygoing spirit, a heart full of love, and a smile so big it’s guaranteed to brighten your day! Angel is a friendly girl who gets along wonderfully with kids, adults, other dogs, and even cats. She’s also totally unfazed by her foster home’s parrots! She’s the kind of dog who just wants to be near her people. She is content to hang out by your side and soak up attention. While she isn’t much for toys, Angel loves a calm, predictable routine. Her typical day includes time in a fenced yard where she enjoys exploring and relaxing. She’s not currently crate trained, has no need to be! Her former owner never crated her, and she’s proven to do just fine when left alone. Angel takes Prion as a preventative for mild urinary leaking, but her foster family reports she’s had no issues whatsoever. She’ll let you know when she needs to go outside with a polite little whine. This sweet girl travels well in the car, knows her basic commands, and walks nicely on leash when given the chance. Mostly, though, she just wants to be with you, whether that means resting her head on your lap, following you from room to room, or flashing that adorable “I’m excited!” grin that melts every heart she meets. Angle truly lives up to her name as a gentle, loyal dog ready to bring warmth and love into her forever home. Please read all adoption steps and policies carefully on our website. dobermanrescueminnesota/adoption-steps/ Qualified adopters are within the approved adoption area, and Adopter will be requested to visit this foster dog at the foster family home. Overview:
The Doberman Pinscher is a sleek and powerful breed originating from Germany in the late 19th century, specifically developed by Karl Friedrich Louis Dobermann for protection. Known for their striking, athletic build, Dobermans typically possess a short, glossy coat that comes in black, red, blue, or fawn, often with rust-colored markings. Their temperament is a fascinating blend of loyalty, intelligence, and alertness, making them exceptional guardians and devoted companions. While highly trainable and eager to please, they require early socialization and consistent training to channel their energy and protectiveness appropriately. Dobermans can thrive in active families who can provide ample exercise and mental stimulation, but their need for space and activity generally makes them less suitable for small apartment living unless exceptionally well-exercised. Regarding health, they are predisposed to certain conditions like Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM), Von Willebrand's Disease, and Wobbler Syndrome, so responsible breeding and veterinary care are paramount.
