Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (short coat). Ross Available in Riverside, RI Ross is a ball of fun. He likes to play and get pet. He needs some work on the leash and obedience training. This boy is here for the fun. Ross is a 7 month old Male Blue heeler mix. He is UTD on his shots, preventatives, neutered, and microchipped. He should be almost fully grown standing tall at medium height or knee level as I like to say. He is sweet and lovable. Gets along great with other dogs. Loves to be around people. He is doing well with crate training but he isn't all the way there yet so he will need continue to be introduced to the crate in fun encouraging ways in order to ensure they don’t chew inappropriate items when left unattended. In fact he is so young all the new things need to be introduced to them (vacuum, stairs, alarm clocks, recliner as it reclines, etc etc ). Each new thing should be introduced in a fun and positive manner so your puppy can see the fun in everything and keep his adventurous spirit. He has been somewhat exposed (thru the fence) to my older dogs and his fellow foster friends. He has had two sets of puppy shots.. Each puppy will need a new home that makes sure the rest of the current fur babies living there are approachable and friendly. Puppy socialization classes are going to be a great way to ensure a sparkling outgoing dog friendly personality. Please consider that before applying for adoption. The ideal homes for this adorable boy will be ready and willing to do all positive reinforcement training (leash training and obedience training) so he can grow up to be the best cowdog he can be. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
