If you are only interested in temporarily Fostering one of our rescues, please fill out a Foster Application. 11/1/25 This young cutie was found outside the kindergarden school in Ensenada. One of the teachers noticed her outside with the kids int he children playground while the kids fed her from the lunches. She took her to a vet clinic to see if she looked familiar to any of the staff and networked to see if she had an owner after a couple of weeks with no owner it was obvious she was another baja stray with no home and contacted ARWOB for help with intake. She is dog and people friendly, we don't know her breed just posting as the breed she looks like but she very well could be a terripoo mix. We don't know if she is cat friendly but she likely would be. READY for adoption and currently also searching for a foster. ARWOB is not holding adoption events at this time and rely on interested parties in contacting us either via email or to submit applications online at ARWOB so we can schedule a call and schedule a meet and greet in the hopes of him finding a forever or temporary home. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
