Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Mixed. Hi everyone! It's me, Anise, a four-month-old German Shepherd puppy! I'm wagging my tail with excitement because I'm settled in my foster home, thanks to a fabulous shelter volunteer who gave me a ride to safety. I can't believe how lucky I am! After a cozy bath and a mani/pedi because my nails were way too long for everyone's liking. I felt loved and cared for, and that has continued. After my pampering, I got to hang out with some amazing resident shepherds for the afternoon at my stopover foster home. They were so friendly, and we had lots of fun together! I loved all their toys, too. My next stop was my current foster home, where I was initially going to spend five cozy days with two ShepHeroes alums and their cat, waiting for my next puppy foster home to welcome me. But I've fit in so nicely in my current foster home, and my foster mom, who was recovering from a wicked cold, feels so much better that they decided I should stay here until I'm adopted. I sleep solidly through the night in my crate, have mastered the doggy door already, and head out to do my business promptly, preferring grassy parts of the lawn for pottying. I know lots of commands now, like sit, stay, and down. My foster mom said to tell you I'm smart, well-adjusted, and brave. I have also met the neighbors, including the toddler, and I was so gentle with her. If you sit on the floor, I happily will crawl into your lap for snuggles. I've also met Gus, the cat. I'm curious and, so far, not interested in chasing him. Bella, the younger shepherd, has already shown me how to play tug with toys. When we're not playing, I easily entertain myself with toys. I may be a petite girl, weighing in at 14 lbs, but I assure you I have a big heart. I love toys and other doggos. Mindie and I went to the vet together for our exams and booster shots. Everyone loved us and we're healthy! The vet said that my adult teeth are on their way so I'll be loosing my puppy teeth soon. Mindie and I had a great time playing in the exam room, and we both rode nicely in the car. I like hanging out in the back seat, and Mindie likes the SUV's cargo area while the car is moving. I also got something called Panacur with my evening meals for five days, since the shelter I landed at doesn't deworm dogs. My people said this would help my super round belly. They sure know things, as I've said goodbye to a large chunk of worms since. My foster mom said, "Oh my". I love my meals, and my foster mom says she always adds extra ingredients. I'm a huge fan!
