Fill out the form by clicking on the picture of the computer screen with our logo on it. September 18th 2025 update: Audrey was seen at Veterinary Medical Center Cardiology UMN. She has a ventricular septal defect which can't be closed surgically because it is too close to her aortic valve, These types of defects can cause the aortic valve to start leaking, sometimes these defects can develop tissue and have the ability to close on their own. So far Audrey is doing well, she will return to VMC Cardiology in 6 months (March 2026) for a follow up cardiac ultrasound and assessment to see how her ventricular septal defect and aortic valve look at that time. This sweet girl is Audrey. She has a heart that is so full of love. She loves all the dogs at her foster home, and she loves to play. She loves her people too and everyone she meets. Unfortunately her sweetheart has a very serious murmur She will need some help from the U of M team to get her healthy. She would love you to sponsor her to help with her care Then we will find her a family that will continue her care My adoption fee helps cover all of my vetting needs such as Cardiology visit and cardiac ultrasound, rabies, DHPPL, Bordetella, spay, and microchipping.

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
