Puddin comes to us with her buddy Whiskey (also available for adoption) after their owner could no longer care for them and their tiny friend, Suki. Puddin is a total goofball — happy, wiggly, and always ready to make you laugh. She loves everyone she meets and is just bursting with puppy joy! Whether she’s playing with her pals or snuggling up for nap time, Puddin brings sunshine wherever she goes. She’s spayed, up to date on vaccines, and will be ready to find her forever home when she arrives in December. Incomplete applications may be denied.(uniteddobermanrescue) We are 100% volunteer, please read adoption requirements BEFORE reaching out to us. Home Visit: A volunteer will schedule a home visit to assess the environment and discuss your expectations. All household members, including children, must be present.(uniteddobermanrescue) Veterinary Reference Check: Provide contact information for your current veterinarian. All existing pets must be spayed/neutered, current on vaccinations, and on heartworm preventative.(uniteddobermanrescue) Meeting Dogs: Once approved, you'll have the opportunity to meet adoptable dogs in their foster homes. If you have a resident dog, consult with the foster about bringing them along. Adoption Finalization: If a suitable match is found, you'll sign an adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Due to COVID-19 precautions, same-day adoptions are currently permitted. Key Adoption Policies Age Requirement: Adopters must be at least 21 years old and reside in the home where the dog will live.(uniteddobermanrescue) WE do NOT ship our dogs ever!!! Children: Adult dogs are not placed in homes with children under 6 years old. Puppies may be considered for such homes if a fenced yard is present.(uniteddobermanrescue) Living Arrangements: Dogs must live indoors and not be left unattended outdoors. Training Commitment: Adopters should be prepared to continue training and socialization. Formal obedience classes are encouraged.(uniteddobermanrescue) Health Considerations: Dobermans are prone to certain health issues. Adopters should be financially prepared for potential veterinary expenses and consider pet insurance. Overview:
The Dachshund, affectionately known as the "wiener dog," is a fascinating breed originating in Germany, primarily bred to hunt badgers and other burrowing animals. Their most distinctive physical characteristic is their long, low-slung body and short, muscular legs, a feature perfectly adapted for tunneling. They come in three coat types – smooth, longhaired, and wirehaired – and various sizes, from miniature to standard. Temperamentally, Dachshunds are known for being courageous, curious, and often quite playful, with a surprising amount of energy. While they are intelligent, their independent nature can make training a delightful challenge. Their small size and relatively low exercise requirements make them well-suited for apartment living, and they can be wonderful companions for families, though early socialization is key, especially with children and other pets. Regarding health, their unique body shape predisposes them to intervertebral disc disease (IVDD), so careful handling and weight management are crucial.
