TOBY *ARRIVING 11/21* - PUG / MIXED DOG FOR ADOPTION

Dog Breed: Pug / Mixed. Adoption Fee: 550. Toby is from Texas. He was surrendered there to a high kill shelter by his previous owner. Toby was in generally good shape, but came into rescue heart worm positive. He has already started his Heart worm treatment down in Texas, and it will need to be continued once he gets to Minnesota, but don't let that scare you away! Heart worm treatment is manageable and once it's over he'll be just fine. Toby is a goofy little guy who absolutely loves his people. His favorite thing to do is to pounce on you while you sit on the couch playing with him. (it's adorable.. trust us). He's a playful, loving boy, but he's not that fond of kids under 10.. they just move too fast and make him uneasy. Adversely, he adores small dogs around his size, but is afraid of larger dogs. He is crate trained (he might need a little bribe in the beginning , but he settles quietly in a short time). Toby hasn't had much obedience training, and will need some time and patience learning leash manners. (We recommend walking him in a harness, as they are much more forgiving) Potty training is another hurdle that Toby is still trying to jump.. lol. He is a marker, but could be belly banded while working on it. Toby is looking for a family that will love him to bits. Letting him on the furniture to watch a movie and maybe even snuggling in bed with them at night. If you just can't get over his cute little face, you should fill out an adoption application today! He just can't wait to meet you They arrive in Minnesota on 11/21/2025 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 8:30 am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. This pet is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm disease. Activity must be restricted for several weeks during recovery. RSR will cover the full cost of treatment. RSR will provide heartworm preventatives until the retest is due. The adopter will be responsible for scheduling the retest and obtaining any follow-up prescriptions through their veterinarian.
