Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: $250. Honey Crisp is a precious pup with a heart full of love! This adorable girl, estimated to be about 8 weeks old, was found with her five littermates along a country road near Chelsea and is now safe and ready to find her forever family. She's a sweet, delightful, and incredibly curious young one, believed to be a Terrier blend (we're waiting for her DNA test results!). Like any young puppy, she's looking for a family fully committed to the challenges and joys of owning a puppy; this means dedication to consistent potty training, establishing a clear daily routine, and providing plenty of positive reinforcement training and socialization to help her get started off on the right foot to success! Honey Crisp is all set medically to begin searching for her forever home: she has received her age-appropriate vaccinations, will be spayed soon, and has a microchip, making her ready to start her new, much-deserved life right now! If you're interested in meeting Honey Crisp or her littermates, please complete an online adoption application found on our website at .wesavepets. Once the application has been submitted, a Safe Haven volunteer will be in touch to discuss the next steps of the meet & greet process.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
