Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Great Dane / Mixed. Meet Jackel — a 10-month-old pup with a heart as big as his paws and a spirit as gentle as can be. Weighing 71 pounds, this gentle giant is still just a puppy at heart — sweet, affectionate, and eager to love and be loved. Jackel arrived as an unclaimed stray, without a collar, tags, or microchip — and no one came looking for him. But he’s not letting that hold him back. He’s putting his best paw forward toward a new life, one filled with love, comfort, and the security every dog deserves. He’s wonderful with other dogs — submissive, friendly, and affectionate — often greeting them with gentle kisses and playful tail wags. Despite his size, he’s incredibly tender and well-mannered, the kind of dog who just wants to make everyone around him happy. Jackel dreams of a cozy couch to curl up on, a warm bed to sleep in every night, and a family who will never let him face homelessness again. He’s the kind of dog who will be endlessly grateful — offering loyalty, love, and gentle companionship for all his years to come. With his soft eyes, kind heart, and loving nature, Jackel is truly any Great Dane lover’s dream companion. He’s ready to trade the streets for snuggles, and a lonely past for a lifetime of belonging. Jackel was rescued from a shelter in New Mexico. Meet and greets are by appointment only. An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above. Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance. We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.
