Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Poodle (unknown type) / Mixed. A FUN & FRIENDLY GUY: Approx. 7 years old / Approx. 18 lbs. Hi there, I’m Jace! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and I sure needed some help. My fur was so matted that I had to be completely shaved, but I’m feeling good now! I also had cherry eye surgery and needed some bloodwork which I received thanks to a generous grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization. I’m happy and ready to find my forever family! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met other dogs about my size at Mostly Mutts and liked them, so if you have a nice dog at home, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over or that may fall on me. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m described as a super sweet, happy little guy who loves people and is playful, friendly, and full of fun energy. I have a cute and confident prance when I walk on my leash that always makes people smile. I was a brave boy during my bath, even though the sprayer made me a little nervous, and I showed my bather just how gentle and loving I am. I’m an all-around adorable, cheerful pup ready to bring joy wherever I go! / Energy Level: 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the ‘come’ command and I use proper door etiquette as well as greet friendly strangers without jumping on them. I look forward to learning more. / I’m doing well in my crate at Mostly Mutts. / I’ve had some accidents and did a little marking at Mostly Mutts, so I may need a little refresher in the potty-training area. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love being held and spending time in laps - it’s my favorite place to be! I also enjoy playing with toys and hanging out with the wonderful volunteers who give me so much love and attention. Being with people makes me happy! / I can’t think of any dislikes yet, but I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future. I’m recovering well from my cherry eye surgery. I’m a wonderful dog looking for a great family that will cherish me and take great care of me! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
