Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. A FUN & FRIENDLY GIRL: Approx. 2 years old / Approx. 29 lbs. Hi, my name is Valeria! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and am enjoying my time with the volunteers, who take great care of me. Now I hear I am ready to find a wonderful home of my very own - where I can love and be loved furever! I’m ready to meet you, so come see me soon! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I haven’t met other dogs at Mostly Mutts yet, so let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m described as a super sweet and friendly girl with a fun, exuberant personality! I get so excited for my walks and when it’s time to spend time with people. I can be a little nervous about the bath sprayer, but I was such a good girl for my nail trim. I’m sweet, smart, and full of love - the kind of pup who’s sure to bring lots of joy and smiles! / Energy Level: 5-7. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the ‘sit’, ‘stay’ and ‘leave it’ commands and I look forward to learning more. / I’m doing well in my crate at Mostly Mutts. / I’ve been having accidents on the shelter schedule, so I’ll need my family to help me finish my potty training. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I like spending time with the volunteers, going for walks and playing with toys! I’m sure we’ll find lots of other things we like doing together, too! / I can’t think of any dislikes yet, but I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I’m a fun and very sweet girl looking for a great furever family! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
