Description
Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). Hi there! Iâm Matcha! An older shepherd mix, but donât let my age fool you... I still have plenty of spark in me. My favorite thing in the whole world? Tennis balls! I carry them around proudly like theyâre my greatest treasures (because honestly, they are). Youâll often see me trotting around with one in my mouth, tail wagging, showing off my prized possession. But I don't really want to share, so I'll just take my tennis balls and lay down, do my own thing. Iâve learned a lot over the years; how to be patient, gentle, and grateful for the little things. I love treats and Iâll give you my best âgood dogâ eyes every time you open the treat bag. I may be a bit slower now, but I still enjoy a nice game of fetch, a cozy nap afterward, and quiet moments with my favorite humans. Iâm loyal, calm, and full of love to give. All I need is a comfy spot to rest, a few tennis balls to call my own, and a person whoâll see the wonderful old soul that I am If youâre looking for a companion whoâll always be by your side I might just be the one for you.

Overview:
The German Shepherd Dog, a truly iconic breed, originated in Germany in the late 19th century, primarily for herding sheep. They are easily recognizable by their athletic, medium-to-large build, typically weighing between 50-90 pounds, with a distinct double coat that can be black and tan, sable, or solid black. Known for their intelligence and loyalty, German Shepherds possess a remarkably trainable and courageous temperament, making them exceptional working dogs in fields like police and service work. While generally good with families when properly socialized, their high energy levels and need for mental stimulation make them unsuitable for apartment living without significant daily exercise. Prospective owners should be aware of common health concerns such as hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as degenerative myelopathy, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary care.
