Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. I have a dog that needs to find her forever home. She is a medium sized husky mix and around 8 years old. She is good with other animals and very sweet and calm. Her owner is a friend of our sons and can no longer keep her for many reasons. He was on his way to put her down when I stepped in and said that I would keep her until I found her a no kill shelter or home. I have a dog and a cat and she gets along well with them. I was told that she sometimes has separation anxiety but probably because she has been dumped at different friends homes to care for her for weeks at a time. She just needs a consistent living condition and would do well with someone that is home a lot or with someone that has other animals. I would be willing to pay $100 a month to cover her expenses until you can find her a home. Please help! A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
