Description
Dog Breed: Great Dane. LOCATION: Warren, Ohio DOB: 04/23/2022 Meet Honey, a beautiful brindle Great Dane with a big personality and an even bigger zest for life. She’s a happy, bouncy girl who greets her people with joyful hops every time they walk through the door. Honey’s enthusiasm is contagious — she radiates love and excitement wherever she goes and has a way of making every day feel a little brighter. Honey has a playful, goofy side that keeps her foster family laughing. She loves doing “puppy NASCAR” laps around the backyard, especially if someone is chasing after her. She’s famous for her gentle “cobbing,” where she playfully nibbles and paws at her favorite people with her long legs. Despite her size, she loves to curl up in the smallest bed in the house — or better yet, right on top of you. When it’s time to rest, she settles easily and sleeps through the night, dreaming of her next adventure. She’s got a moderate energy level, so a home with a fenced yard would be perfect for her to stretch her legs and zoom around safely. After some playtime, she’s just as happy to relax by your side. She walks nicely on a leash, enjoys car rides, and knows that when the leash comes out, something exciting is about to happen. Honey gets along great with her dog friends and even shares her home with cats — she’s more curious than anything and will politely “clean up” their leftover food when she can. She takes treats gently and loves all kinds of food, even if she occasionally has to wrestle it free from her own lips. She can be timid with men and needs slow, patient introductions to feel comfortable around them. Once she trusts you, she’s incredibly affectionate and loyal. Her ideal home will be with someone who has experience with large breeds and can provide gentle structure, consistency, and lots of love. A secure yard is important — Honey is curious and adventurous, sometimes a little too curious for her own good. Honey is a sweet, silly girl with a huge heart and so much love to give. She’s the perfect mix of playful and snuggly, full of personality and affection. She’s ready to find her forever home — one that will laugh with her, love her, and let her bounce her way right into their hearts. ========================= To apply to adopt me, please fill out the application form! form.jotform/51994996709176 . Overview:
The Great Dane is an impressive and regal breed, often dubbed the "Apollo of Dogs" for its dignified stature and noble appearance. Originating in Germany, where it was historically bred for hunting boar, this giant breed is renowned for its immense size and striking presence. Physically, Great Danes are characterized by their tall, muscular build, short coat (available in various colors like fawn, brindle, black, blue, and harlequin), and expressive eyes. Despite their formidable size, they possess a surprisingly gentle and affectionate temperament, making them wonderful family companions. They are known for being patient with children and generally get along well with other pets. While their size might suggest otherwise, Great Danes can adapt to apartment living if provided with sufficient daily exercise, as they are not overly energetic indoors. However, prospective owners should be aware of certain health considerations, including a predisposition to bloat (gastric dilatation-volvulus), hip dysplasia, and certain heart conditions, necessitating careful breeding and regular veterinary check-ups. Overall, a Great Dane offers a loving and loyal addition to the right home.
