Description
Dog Breed: Hound / Mixed. Meet Biscuit, a young, playful shelter dog brimming with energy and curiosity. His sweet, cuddly nature makes him a joy to be around, while his goofy antics will keep you entertained. Biscuit is independent but loves company, perfect for an active family ready to guide him with some training. We feel he will do good with kids with the understanding that he will need time to learn boundaries and manners. His zest for life and eagerness to explore make him an ideal companion for adventures. We are unsure of him with cats and super slow and patient introductions is best. We are working on learning him with dogs and a dog test will be required. If you're looking for a loyal friend to add vibrancy and love to your life, Biscuit is the perfect match. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. Interested in adopting? Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
