Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Meet Cheeseburger! Cheeseburger is a stunning! He was found chained up in the woods left to die. Animal control saved him and his identical twin sister Sage, and they have been with us ever since. He has played with other dogs but appropriate introductions are an absolute must because he is very strong. He is looking for a terrier savvy owner that understands the breed. He is not a yard dog and prefers to sleep on the couch. From Cheeseburger’s foster dad – “Cheeseburger is a strong dog who loves to play. He loves belly rubs and will lay right down at the oddest times to get one. I never have to trick Cheeseburger, he does what you ask him to, like going into his kennel when his time in the yard is up. He will take all the love and attention you can give him.” He is neutered, dewormed, microchipped, current with all vaccines (as appropriate for his age) and on flea and heartworm prevention. Cheeseburger is currently being fostered in South Carolina. ADOPT CHEESEBURGER!! .LuckyPupRescueSC The adoption fee is $375.00 and we require a vet check and home visit.

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
