Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Meet Suzie! I’m a total sweetheart, who would love to be your next BFF! I’m a little shy at first but warm up quickly. Once I have been introduced properly to other dogs, I am high energy and have a rough and tumble play style. I was found with my siblings, Pete and Brandy living in a rough situation. But those days are over! My mom was a yellow lab mix, and my dad was a black lab mix.I am crate trained, and almost housebroken. I weigh about 40 pounds. She is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, and current with all vaccines (as appropriate for her age) and on flea and heartworm prevention. Suzie is currently being fostered in South Carolina. ADOPT SUZIE!! .LuckyPupRescueSC The adoption fee is $375.00 and we require a vet check and home visit.

In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
