Dog Breed: Poodle (Standard) / Golden Retriever / Mixed (medium coat). Thank you for stopping by to see me! Please fill out an application to set up a private meeting. Meet Goyle, a handsome, curly (estimated) Goldendoodle with a big heart, a big personality, and even bigger energy. Goyle is a high-energy boy who currently gets three walks a day and still has plenty of pep left, so he’s looking for a home that can keep up with his active lifestyle and give him the exercise, stimulation, and attention he needs. He would thrive with someone who is home often, has a fenced backyard for him to run in, and ideally has another playful dog, as he loves other dogs and has gotten along with every dog he’s met. Goyle is social and friendly at dog parks, though he can be reactive on leash, barking and lunging when he sees other dogs, so he’ll need an adopter who’s willing to continue working on this along with other training. He currently knows “sit,” and while his recall and manners around human food are improving, he’s still a sneaky guy who will counter-surf or get into the garbage if given the chance. He absolutely LOVES car rides and is the definition of a velcro dog—he follows his person everywhere and is happiest snuggled up on the couch or in bed. Goyle is kennel trained and sees his crate as a safe, comfortable place; he goes in willingly to rest, chew a bone, or eat his meals. He has done well with children from 5 months to 12 years old and could be a wonderful family dog. He does have a prey drive and has shown interest in chasing small animals and the household cat. He has lived with a cat successfully, but it required time, training, and management, and any adopter with cats should be prepared for a similar process. With his pretty curly coat, he’ll need regular grooming and brushing—luckily, he enjoys being brushed and doesn’t shed. Goyle is a loving, loyal, goofy boy who will make an incredible companion for someone willing to give him the structure, activity, and affection he craves. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.
