Please be aware we do not hold dogs until an appointment to meet them is scheduled. Approximate DOB 2/14/2025 – About 12 lbs History: Snowy was surrendered to a local shelter after being purchased from a homeless person. She was extremely fearful, had severe anxiety, and stayed under the people's bed and wouldn't come out and they decided she was just too much for them to deal with. When she was taken to the shelter she was wearing a full diaper and her little bottom was urine burned and raw. Shelter staff had to wrap her in a towel to handle her as she was threatening to bite. She was just so scared and failed the temperament test twice. The decision was made to request rescue assistance to help her recover and learn that life is fun and happy and people even strangers are awesome. We agreed to give her a chance and oh my goodness she is an absolute gem!!!! Current Status: Since being in rescue Snowy has really started coming out of her shell. She has started meeting volunteers and just loves to be held and loved on. She is an absolute little doll. She loves attention and is learning to play with toys but still gets frightened if people move too quickly. She loves laps and cuddling once she trusts you. She is still so young and has sooo much potential as she really wants to run and play and love a family. We have all just absolutely fallen in love with this sweet, curious little girl. She has finally started joining the games with the other dogs. Snowy is house and crate trained and does wonderful using a dog door. We have learned that she will not potty on walks - so if taken out on a walk to potty she will use the bathroom inside the house. She needs a yard or a pen with puppy pads or you will end up with a mess. She also does the submissive urination thing until she gets to know and trust someone. So usually when we let her out of her crate we run to the door and take her outside immediately before any pets otherwise she will potty right there on the floor. In my opinion though it does go away the more confident she gets in the home. She would do best in a home with a patient loving family/person who can spoil her and help her learn to trust before expecting to much. She has met the cats and lots of other dogs here and does wonderful. She is very submissive and if they want a toy she has she will drop it. But she is learning to play fetch and is just the cutest baby ever. She does seem to like quiet, gentle children as well but might be best in an adult only home unless the child/children and patient and can let her learn to trust them. She loves walks and mosing around outside but also loves lap tie on the couch. Snowy is an amazing young girl who learns quickly and just wants to be loved so badly. She ignores the cats and is the type of girl who stays right next to her loved one. Snowy is crate trained, working on house training, and dog door trained. This beautiful little girl will be an amazing addition to any family wanting a sweet little dog to just dote on and love. Her ideal family will be patient and loving and wants a dog that will stick by their side exploring and then cuddle up next to them to enjoy some love and tv. We do recommend crating or keeping her in an x-pen when she can't be watched initially to make the transition easier for everyone and so she can't hide under a bed like she did prior.
