Dog Breed: Cattle Dog / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 300. ATTENTION: All of our dogs are in private foster homes. We do NOT have a kennel with multiple dogs. If you find a dog you want to meet in person, please go to .secondchancedogrescue and complete an application. We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt. // // Meet Pancake, the sweetest little cuddlebug you’ll ever meet! She is a 1+ year old, 26 pound cattle dog mix. She’s friendly with everyone—kids and especially other dogs. She’s fully potty trained, knows how to use a dog door, and loves trips to the park where she can play fetch and show off her zoomies. At home, she’s a world-class snuggler who will happily curl up next to you all night. She adores being close to her humans or dog siblings and has the cutest playful, silly personality. She’s even great in the bath! Pancake is the whole package—loving, social, and easygoing. She will make an amazing addition to any family. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and ready to find her forever family. Her adoption fee is $300. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption. Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs, vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Please go to .secondchancedogrescue and complete an application today! Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
