Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 550. Hi! Hi! Hi! I’m Theodore, runt of the litter so I HAVE to make sure you notice me. Don’t let my size fool you, I am full of spunk! I am a terrier/chi/mix boy born around Sept 16. So right now I live in a playpen area with 2 of my brothers. My foster has kids (9 & 13) who love on me alot (it’s never enough) and 3 dogs (10, 30, 80lbs), Cat, and Guinea pig who think we are pretty entertaining. I am still learning to use the potty pads in our area but getting better every day. We also have a crate we can go in to sleep at night. Due to my age I am still exploring with my mouth, but I LOVE the rubbery bones so a simple reminder of where they are is helpful. I am the first one to greet you. I love to cuddle and play, in fact if I can do both at the same time that's the best. For right now I’m pretty high energy - because I puppy - and there are just all these cool toys to play with! If I see you and you’re not playing or cuddling me I’ll be sure to say hi, but I’ve been pretty happy playing on my own (except when one of my brothers comes by then I must play wrestle with them). If you are looking for a fun and social pup look no further! I’m tiny, but like all puppies I need structure, training (house, behavioral), socialization, patience, and love. I am going to be a wonderful dog for the family willing to put in the work puppies require. A home with kids 8+ is preferred If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: .starfishanimalrescue/adopt/dog-adoption-application . Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will send to the foster family to set up a meet! The adoption fee of $550 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Thank you for your understanding.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
