Description
Dog Breed: Boxer (medium coat). This squishy-faced wonder's name is Delta! While Delt may be showing his age with the hints of silver on his muzzle, his persoanlity sure doesn't! This guy wiggles 24/7, and is always looking for a face to lick and a lap to climb onto! Delta would do well in a home that doesn't mind the fact that he is a gentle giant that an't contorl his enthusiasm! While Delta does not have a history living with kids, he could live with sturdy kids that won't mind a dog that loves to bounce all around them! Per his history, he could also live with a cat- depending on the individual cat. Similarly, while he enjoys other dogs, he can be quite intense! Becuase of this, he would have to meet a potential dog friend ahead of time before going home to them. He has also worked through some medical issues while in the shelter, but he hasn't let that stop him!

Overview:
The Boxer is a medium-sized, short-haired dog breed of German origin, known for its distinctive appearance and vibrant personality. Physically, Boxers possess a strong, athletic build with a characteristic square head, an undershot jaw, and often a docked tail and cropped ears (though these practices are becoming less common). Their short, glossy coat typically comes in fawn or brindle, often with white markings. Temperamentally, Boxers are renowned for being incredibly loyal, intelligent, and energetic, making them fantastic companions for active families. They thrive on human interaction and can be playful and patient with children, making them excellent family pets. While their energy levels require regular exercise, their adaptability means they can adjust to apartment living if their activity needs are consistently met. However, potential owners should be aware of certain health considerations, including a predisposition to some cancers, heart conditions like cardiomyopathy, and hip dysplasia, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups.
