Description
Dog Breed: Hound / Mixed (short coat). Don't forget!! We are currently open by appointment only. This is to control the traffic in the building at one time. If you would like to look at the cats/dogs for adoption, or if you need to relinquish or to do any other business, please message our FB page or call us at 304-267-8389 to schedule an appointment. If you see a specific pet for adoption on our FB page we can always set up a specific meet and greet for that as well. This handsome guy is Bo. He is 5 years old. Both is neutered and vaccinated. He is good with dogs but does need a place without cats. Bo is leash and crate trained. Bo loves to be around people. He has separation anxiety when hes alone. Thank you Jordan and Friends for taking sweet Bo out for "Doggy Day Out" Here is what they had to say about him: Meet Bo! This sweet boy’s heart is as big as his smile! Bo loves his people but never turns down the chance to make new friends. He was a total pro on his car ride—no nerves here! He even hopped up front to say hello before settling down for a nap in the back seat. At the pet store, Bo wasn’t too sure about the toys, but the treat aisle? That was his happy place! He picked out his own snacks and took them ever so gently. Bo already knows “sit,” and while he has a playful side, he’s overall a chill guy who just wants love (and maybe a few more treats ). Oh—and don’t be surprised if he tries to crawl into your lap for some extra cuddles! ❤️ Bo might be a big boy, but he’s got the heart (and snuggle habits) of a lap dog. Come meet Bo—your new best friend might just be waiting for you! Adoption fee... $175, cash or credit card. If you already have a dog, bring them in with you for a 'meet and greet'. Mon.-Sat. 10-4 We understand not everyone can adopt a pet. Some homes are full, some homes do not allow certain pets and some have lifestyles that can't handle a pet right now. You can still help. Sharing pictures on FB, volunteering, or just coming in and sponsoring part of the adoption fee for when the pet is adopted. This helps a lot. No amount is too small to donate towards the adoption fee. If you would like to help sponsor, speak to one of the staff. Especially the cats and kittens need help (since we usually have so many!) Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank You!

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
