Description
Dog Breed: Husky / Alaskan Malamute / Mixed (long coat). Emma was born around May 16, 2025, and might top out in the 50ish-pound range when full-grown. Emma is drop-dead gorgeous with cloudlike tufts of fur to run your fingers through. Emma is with us because her humans could no longer care for her. We are told that Emma has been around other dogs, cats, and children as young as toddlers without any issues. Emma is still very much a pup, and you will have normal puppy things to teach her, but she is incredibly smart and should learn quickly. Emma is good on leash. Emma does fine in the car, lies down and enjoys the scenery. We were told that Emma was part Malamute, but she is so slight built we decided to do a Wisdom Panel DNA test on her and here are the results: 42% Siberian Husky, 15% German Shepherd Dog, 10% Alaskan Malamute, 10% Samoyed, 5% Wolf, plus 13 more very low percentages. So, there we have it! She is not a barker, has the oddest "talk" when she plays. etc. It's not loud, just deep and gruff sounding which is likely unique to one of her odd breeds, but we can't decipher which one. We do try to call her Emma, but often end up saying "Hey, Poof Girl!" She is exceptionally pretty, fun, and unique. Emma absolutely needs another fun dog to romp and play with. The Adoption Fee for this dog is $600.00. Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. Breed overview
Overview:
The Alusky, a captivating hybrid of the Alaskan Malamute and Siberian Husky, originated from the desire to blend the best traits of these powerful Arctic breeds. Physically, they are medium to large dogs, boasting a thick double coat that comes in a variety of colors and often features the striking blue or bi-colored eyes inherited from the Husky, alongside the sturdy build of the Malamute. Temperamentally, Aluskys are known for being intelligent, energetic, and loyal. They thrive on human companionship and require significant exercise and mental stimulation to prevent boredom and destructive behaviors. While generally good with families, their high energy levels and strong prey drive mean they are less suited for apartment living and benefit from a secure yard. Potential owners should be aware of common health concerns like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye conditions, making responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups essential for a healthy companion.
