Description
Dog Breed: Chihuahua (medium coat). **Kiki and her brother Kilo were rescued from a Hoarder to keep them from ending up in an overcrowded high-kill shelter. Kilo is the more docile, chill of the two puppies and is smaller than Kiki by a pound. Kiki is vivacious, curious, adventurous, and brave. She loves attantion and meeting new people. Kilo is curious, outgoing, gentle, loving, and cuddly. These are smart puppies, and their foster is introducing them to folks and keeping them social so they will be great in public and enjoyable to take anywhere. They are very young and their personalities are still developing. This is an excellent age to adopt and train a young Chihuahua. Are you ready to open your heart and home to Kiki? The adoption fee is $450, which directly supports her care and helps us rescue even more dogs in need. Overview:
The Chihuahua, a captivating breed known for its diminutive size, boasts an ancient and somewhat mysterious origin, with most theories pointing to Mexico as its birthplace, potentially descending from the "Techichi," a small companion dog of the Toltec civilization. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their small, compact bodies, large expressive eyes, and erect ears, appearing in both smooth and long-coated varieties, showcasing a vast array of colors and markings. Despite their tiny stature, Chihuahuas possess a big personality; they are often described as spirited, alert, and fiercely loyal to their owners, sometimes displaying a bold and confident demeanor. While their small size makes them exceptionally well-suited for apartment living, they thrive in homes where they receive ample attention and mental stimulation. They can be good family pets for older children who understand how to interact gently with a small dog, but their delicate build makes them less suitable for boisterous toddlers. Regarding health, Chihuahuas can be prone to certain conditions like patellar luxation, heart problems, and dental issues, making regular veterinary check-ups crucial for their well-being.
