Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed. Hennessy is such a sweetheart! She loves toys-especially a good game of fetch—and will happily run round after round before settling down in the shade for some cuddle time. Once she’s relaxed, she’ll gently rest her head on your lap, soaking up pets and giving sweet kisses. She came to the shelter with two other dogs from the same home, including her buddy Diablo, who’s also available for adoption. On a recent doggy-day-out, Hennessy and Diablo showed what amazing dogs they are- both have wonderful temperaments, ride nicely in the car, know “sit,” love the outdoors, and enjoy playing together. Hennessy is a beautiful, loving girl who’s ready to find a family of her own. She has so much love to give and will make a wonderful companion! Apply for Hennessy at EHRDOGS.ORG

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
