Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed. Meet Flip aka Chex - The Brave Little Soul Flip might be smaller in size, but this sweet boy's heart is pure gold. He's a 4-month-old shepherd mix who's still learning that the world isn't such a scary place - and with a patient, gentle human, he'll bloom faster than you can say "good boy." Once he trusts you (and it doesn't take long if you come bearing treats and kind words), you'll see his true self, playful, silly, and full of curiosity. Flip adores other dogs, loves to run and chase toys with his brother, and is working hard on his basic commands. He's also pretty great with puppy pads, a few misses, but all effort! When you give him extra time outside he will use the "outdoor facilities" otherwise he gravitates to the puppy pads. At night, Flip snuggles up next to Flop in their crate, feeling safe and loved. They don't make a peep. After what he's been through, Flip just needs a little extra patience and understanding, the kind that turns a shy pup into a lifelong best friend. If you believe love can heal and laughter belongs in every home, Flip's ready to flip your heart upside-down.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
