Description
Dog Breed: Scottish Terrier Scottie / Mixed. Cinderella is an 8-year-old, 20-lb Scottish Terrier mix with a gentle soul and the softest eyes. She’s fully housetrained, excellent in a crate, and gets along wonderfully with both dogs and cats. This girl is calm, quiet, and incredibly easy to live with. Cinderella is still building her confidence and will thrive in a home with another steady, confident dog to show her the ropes. A securely fenced yard is a must for her—she’s not comfortable on a leash and will likely never be a dog who enjoys going for walks, but she loves exploring the yard and playing outside at her own pace. Indoors, she’s a total cuddlebug who enjoys treats, snuggling on the couch, and even watching TV. She is still nervous about doorways and will need to be carried in and out until she gains more trust in her people. Her future family will need patience, kindness, and a quiet environment to help her continue to blossom. If you have a calm home, a confident canine companion, and a heart ready for a tender little dog who just needs to feel safe, Cinderella may be your perfect match. She’s waiting for someone who believes, like she does, that every timid pup deserves their happily-ever-after. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and will be available for adoption starting 11/16 through Paws Across Pittsburgh, Springdale, PA KL# 16182.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
