Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (long coat). These 3 scruffy puppies were rescued from a shelter in Texas and will soon be heading to NJ. Carlo is the only male and he weighs 5.3 pounds. His sister Camila is the largest pup - she weighs 7.6 pounds - while sister Capri weighs in at 5.8 pounds. These puppies will be looking for placement in homes where they will get plenty of attention as well as training and exercise. They will be small when full grown so they might do best in a home where the kids are older and respectful of their size. If you feel that your home has everything these sweet babies need, then please fill out an application at .northstarpets and mention the name of the puppy you are interested in.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
