Description
Dog Breed: Harrier / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Waylon! This guy is ready to two-step his way into your heart. Staff and volunteers have fallen in love with this big hound mix boy. He is goofy and eager to interact with just about everyone. When interacting, he leans in for pets. Waylon has joined playgroup at the Shelter and instigates play with other dogs with lots of playbows and partakes in a game of cat-and-mouse (being both the chaser and the chase-ee). Waylon would thrive with a hound-savvy adopter who is aware of their above average mental and physical stimulation needs on a daily basis. We do not have any history of Waylon with cats or children. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering âPawsitivity Bucksâ with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
