Dog Breed: Lhasa Apso / Shih Tzu / Mixed (medium coat). Please read the pet description IN IT'S ENTIRETY before applying. Thank you for your cooperation. NOT YET TAKING APPLICATIONS – NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION NEW INTAKE 11/14/2025: Puppycups - female - approx 2 years old - 9.10 pounds - Lhasa Apso/ Shih tzu Reason for intake: Puppycups came to us from Natchitoches Animal Control. She was there with another little dog. I drove to Natchitoches and met both of them. The other was protective of Puppycups so I started texting some rescue groups to see if they could take in the other. I found a group, so I loaded them both up and headed back to Benton. Puppycups was dirty, had long nails, and is missing quite a bit of hair. What hair she does have is unkempt and tangled. It's clear she's had puppies in the past as well. Both dogs were not cared for. She is the sweetest girl and has the cutest underbite. She's heading to the vet the week of 11/17/25 for spaying and everything else she needs. Stay tuned. NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS: Many dogs, particularly breeder, hoarder or senior dogs, can have multiple medical issues that need addressed. Additionally, sometimes we take in young puppies requiring multiple vaccinations and/or quarantining. In this particular case, we are not yet taking applications either due to age or possible illness or some other reason. We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption. In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered. Please note… we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption. Please wait until the dog is available for adoption.
