Description
Dog Breed: Hound / Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: $450. Zoe and her littermates were found as strays in Opelika, Alabama. They found their way to the local shelter where they were actually lucky as they were very sick puppies. The shelter saved their lives because they provided the medical care that was needed. They are now fully recovered and ready to find their forever homes! The puppies will be arriving to our rescue on November 22nd. We are told they will be around 4 1/2 months when arriving and they all weigh around 20 lbs. Based on this information, they will most likely end up as medium sized dogs between 40 to 50 lbs. Our best guess on breeds is a mix of hound and pitbull. We are sure they are a mix of many different breeds! Once the puppies arrive, we will update their bio with personalities and training as well as new pictures. Zoe is current on vaccinations and flea/tick/heartworm prevention. She is also spayed. Her adoption fee is $450. If you are interested in this cutie, please submit an application on our website at worthytails.rescuegroups. For any questions, please send an email to jessie.wilsoncomcast. Thank you for your interest in a rescue pup!

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
