Description
Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Pointer / Mixed (short coat). Vivenne "Vivi" is now in a loving NJ foster home. Meet Vivi – the sweetest most soulful girl you’ll ever meet. This beautiful 5-year-old chocolate lab/pointer/pittie mix (best guess) is pure love wrapped in a silky chocolate coat. Vivi weighs about 45–50 pounds, is 100% house trained, and is as close to “perfect family dog” as they come. She adores everyone she meets and is kid, dog, and cat friendly, making her an easy fit into just about any loving home. Vivi is incredibly affectionate and lives for snuggles and couch time with her people. She loves to be near you, happily curling up by your side or resting her head in your lap like the gentle, soulful girl she is. She rides beautifully in the car (the perfect backseat passenger) and walks like a dream on leash, always respectful of other dogs she passes. She has the cutest little quirks that make her extra special. She loves stretching into her “downward dog” pose, and when you come home or it’s time for a walk, she does an adorable little tap dance with her front feet because she’s just that excited to see you. It’s impossible not to smile when Vivi is happy. Vivi is truly the sweetest thing ever and is so ready to shower her forever family with love, loyalty, and cuddles. If you’re looking for a gentle, easygoing, snuggly companion who will be your shadow in the best way, Vivi might be your girl. Vivenne is fixed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. She is going through her heartworm treatment and will be available for adoption in January after she is altered. Her adoption fee is $450. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home. Apply to foster or adopt wag-on-inn

Breed overview
Overview:
The Lab-Pointer, a charming crossbreed of the Labrador Retriever and Pointer, originated from the desire to combine the best qualities of both parent breeds. Physically, they are typically medium to large dogs, showcasing a athletic build, often with a short, dense coat in various colors like black, yellow, chocolate, or liver, and sometimes the distinctive Pointer markings. Their temperament is generally a delightful blend: intelligent, loyal, and eager to please like the Lab, combined with the Pointer's alert and energetic nature. This makes them highly trainable, though they do require consistent exercise and mental stimulation to prevent boredom. While affectionate and good with children, their energy levels mean they are best suited for active families with a yard, rather than small apartments. Prospective owners should be aware of potential health concerns inherited from either parent, such as hip and elbow dysplasia, eye conditions, and certain cancers, making responsible breeding and regular vet check-ups crucial for their well-being.
