Description
Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). ONLY AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION IN NEW JERSEY AND LOCAL SURROUNDING AREAS!!! If your application is a possible match, a volunteer will get back to you within 48 hrs. No inquiries, please, without an application. Bosco is only 18 months old and has already been through so much in his short life. Severely neglected to the point that Animal Control had to seize him. He came in so skinny and insecure. In the short time that he’s been in boarding, we have seen him really come out of his shell and he is even a little goofy. He definitely needs training and leash manners. He definitely needs an experienced Shepherd owner that will give him the life that he deserves. He’s a lot of fun in the yard and loves to play fetch. He gives wonderful kisses when he feels safe and when he loves you it’s deep. If you are interested in Bosco, please go to bfdaaa to complete an application.

Overview:
The German Shepherd Dog, a truly iconic breed, originated in Germany in the late 19th century, primarily for herding sheep. They are easily recognizable by their athletic, medium-to-large build, typically weighing between 50-90 pounds, with a distinct double coat that can be black and tan, sable, or solid black. Known for their intelligence and loyalty, German Shepherds possess a remarkably trainable and courageous temperament, making them exceptional working dogs in fields like police and service work. While generally good with families when properly socialized, their high energy levels and need for mental stimulation make them unsuitable for apartment living without significant daily exercise. Prospective owners should be aware of common health concerns such as hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as degenerative myelopathy, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary care.
