Dog Breed: Chihuahua (short coat). "Gigi" Chihuahua, female-10 lbs, 4 yrs old Meet Gigi! Gigi is a 4-year-old, 10-lb sweetheart who’s the perfect mix of cuddly companion and easygoing sidekick. She loves relaxing next to her person, going for car rides, taking walks, and soaking up all the love she can get. After coming from a home with many dogs, she’s ready for a life where she can finally be the center of someone’s attention—so she’d thrive as the only dog. Gigi isn’t a yappy girl, but she’ll happily announce a passerby with a friendly window bark. She’s social with adults, respectful, and enjoys people who respect her boundaries. She has no separation anxiety and is content to nap while you’re out, greeting you joyfully when you return. She enjoys soft toys, small bones, and treats (“cookies!”), and isn’t destructive aside from occasionally de-stuffing a plushie. She eats kibble and Ollie fresh food without fuss, and she even loves being pampered—baths, brushing, little dresses, all of it. Gigi would be the perfect match for someone wanting a quiet, loyal little shadow who sleeps in the bed, stays by your side, and blossoms with affection and quality time. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their small, compact bodies, large expressive eyes, and erect ears, appearing in both smooth and long-coated varieties, showcasing a vast array of colors and markings. Despite their tiny stature, Chihuahuas possess a big personality; they are often described as spirited, alert, and fiercely loyal to their owners, sometimes displaying a bold and confident demeanor. While their small size makes them exceptionally well-suited for apartment living, they thrive in homes where they receive ample attention and mental stimulation. They can be good family pets for older children who understand how to interact gently with a small dog, but their delicate build makes them less suitable for boisterous toddlers. Regarding health, Chihuahuas can be prone to certain conditions like patellar luxation, heart problems, and dental issues, making regular veterinary check-ups crucial for their well-being.
