Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Meet Blue Magenta! Just days away from turning one, Blue Magenta is blooming into the beautiful, joyful girl she was always meant to be. Her coat is coming in soft and velvety, her bright eyes sparkle with curiosity, and her sweet spirit shines even brighter. This resilient little lovebug is friendly with dogs, cats, and kids, and she greets every new person like they’re already her best friend. After a day of zoomies, playtime, and exploring, she’s happiest curled up beside you — soaking in every bit of affection she’s missed. Blue Magenta is great with dogs, cats, and kids. She is sparkly and cuddly, equal parts walking or couch buddy. She can be a bit jumpy when meeting new people, so kids 6+, or dog-savvy kids. Blue Magenta is healing, thriving, and so ready for her next chapter… A chapter filled with comfort, laughter, stability, and a family who adores her just as she is. All of our animals are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heart-worm tested, and treated if necessary. Vet references and a home/family visit are required, and an adoption fee applies. Transport options are available within our area of operation, including Pennsylvania, the tri-state area, and New England. Please note we do not adopt animals into Canada. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
