Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed. Meet Spazzy a brave little soul with a big story and an even bigger heart. At just 2 years old, she's already overcome so much. Spazzy came from a seizure case in Shenandoah County, where she was kept in a tiny space with nearly 20 other dogs. After everything she's endured, she's still learning to trust, which makes her nervous and reactive with new people. But beneath that fear is a dog who wants to believe in kindness. Despite her past, Spazzy is energetic, playful, and very puppy-like. She loves to explore and zoom around sometimes a bit too enthusiastically, as she's known to be an escape artist. She'll need basic training and a patient, experienced dog owner who understands that healing takes time. Spazzy may be a work in progress, but she is full of heart and hope. If you believe in second chances, she's ready to start hers with you. ?? She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. Interested in adopting? Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
