Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed (short coat). Teo – Male, 11 Months Old, 35 lbs Meet Teo, a gentle 11-month-old Shepherd mix who has spent the last several months in a loving foster home in Puerto Rico learning what it means to feel safe. Teo is fully grown at 35 pounds and is the perfect medium-sized companion. Teo is very sweet, submissive, and eager to please. He loves other dogs and gains confidence from having friendly pups around him. He has not been tested with cats, but his soft, gentle nature suggests he’ll adapt well with slow introductions. He is great with kids, house broken, and thrives in a calm, patient home where he can continue building trust. If you’re looking for a sensitive, loyal boy who will blossom with love, Teo is waiting for you. To meet Teo, please fill out an adoption application: form.jotform/91758283848171

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
