Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed (short coat). Meet Cody! This fabulous boy is around 2 years old and 18 lbs. He has a happy and fun personality. Cody loves all people and gets along great with other dogs. He is social and playful. He will chase cats so we recommend him for a cat free home. Cody sadly lost his right back leg recently. It needed to be amputated after he was hit by a car and his leg was too badly broken to be repaired. He is adjusting well and it does not stop him in the slightest. He loves to walk and play! Cody needs a bit more work on potty training but is catching on nicely. A home with a yard will make potty training much easier for him. Cody is vaccinated, neutered and chipped. His adoption fee is $450 We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
