Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Buggle, the sweetest 5-month-old nugget with a big future ahead—literally. At already 47 pounds, this handsome pittie puppy is well on his way to becoming a big, lovable boy, and he’s hoping to learn his manners before he grows into those paws. Buggle is an adorable goof who likely missed some early lessons in puppy etiquette—especially bite inhibition, that important skill puppies learn from their mom and littermates about controlling mouth pressure. Whether he was separated too young or simply didn’t have siblings to practice with, we don’t know. But what we do know is that Buggle means no harm. Like all puppies, he uses his mouth to play, explore, and interact—he just needs guidance to understand when he’s being too rough. That’s where his ideal home comes in. Buggle would thrive with a confident, playful, but firm female dog who can help teach him the puppy manners he missed. With the right canine role model and a family that’s committed, patient, and ready to guide him, Buggle is sure to blossom into the well-mannered, joyful companion he’s meant to be. He’s sweet, silly, eager to learn, and full of potential. If you can see past the puppy chaos and into the wonderful dog he’ll become, Buggle is ready to start his journey home—with you. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
