Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. Luna is 4 years old. She is a boxer German Shepard mix and has three legs due to a motor vehicle accident when she was 9 months old. She is amazing and goofy. She loves women and children but does not prefer men due to her previous owner being abusive, she will bark and run away instead. She loves other animals and has never met an animal she will not play with. She can do anything a regular four-legged dog can do if not better. She goes by Luna and Looney Tunes because she is so silly. Because of her mixed breed she can be quite hyper and does need someone to give her a lot of attention. She has separation anxiety and has the weirdest bark. She is kennel trained, has been fixed, and is microchipped. She has not had any health issues in all of her life. She absolutely adores children and gives hugs and kisses to anyone who will allow it. She is a big baby and prefers to sleep under the covers with her human versus sleeping in her kennel and will cuddle all night long. She has been raised around other dogs and cats all her life. Unfortunately, due to financial reasons she must be rehomed. **** Breed: Boxer/German Shepard **** Pet Link: .nokillnetwork/adoption/pet_detail.php?petid=2191102&flag=1

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
