Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat). Petunia (A565332): Petunia is soft, sweet, and just like sweet potato pie—impossible not to love. She’s around a year old and 30 pounds. Petunia can be timid, but her heart is trying so hard to be brave, and even as she’s still settling in, we are already charmed by her gentle spirit. She takes treats very gently, despite being underweight. She was a little cautious in her kennel, but agreed to walk with me after I presented my bona fides (actually a delicious treat). We made our way across the lawn and Petunia quickly took care of business. She ignored the other dogs who were enjoying puppy playgroup and focused instead on all the interesting smells a bright Fall morning has to offer. Petunia enjoyed the fresh air and was reluctant to go go back inside but the farther was chilly. This sweet little girl deserves a chance to blossom in a loving home with a family who can provide the care and patience she needs. Petunia is gentle, loving, and ready to trust again. She just needs someone to guide her along the way. This special little flower is waiting for her chance to walk with confidence and live the life she deserves.
